A man accused of deliberately setting a fire at a large housing complex in Chatham will be heading to trial in the new year.
Leonard Greason, 48, of London, is charged with arson with disregard for human life in connection with the fire at 99 McNaughton Avenue West in Chatham on August 25, 2024.
Greason remains in custody and will have a hearing in Chatham court November 3, 2025 to confirm four days of trial on January 27, March 11, 24, and 25, 2026.
Chatham-Kent police arrested Greason in January 2025 in St. Thomas.
Greason's co-accused, Erin Ott, is out on bail for a second time.
Ott's case will return to Chatham court on November 3, 2025 as well for a trial confirmation hearing.
The early morning fire on August 25, 2024 displaced nearly 100 residents from their homes.
A publication ban prohibits the publication of any evidence heard in the two cases.
