A 28-year-old Dresden man has been charged after a pregnant woman was assaulted.

At around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, Chatham-Kent (CK) police were called to a home on Westcourt Boulevard in Wallaceburg.

When officers arrived, they found an upset pregnant woman who said she was in medical distress.

She told officers that a man had forcibly grabbed her outside her home, thrown her to the ground, and assaulted her. She claimed she was able to crawl inside her home and call for help.

Police didn't specify whether the man and the victim knew each other.
