Blenheim man faces charges in connection to stolen motorcycle

Chatham-Kent (CK) police have charged a 40-year-old Blenheim man after he was allegedly caught driving a stolen motorcycle.

At around 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, officers pulled over a motorcyclist on King Street in Chatham for not having a licence plate.

It was later discovered that the bike had been reported stolen, so officers attempted to arrest the driver. He reportedly tried to flee and obstruct officers, but was eventually taken in.

Police said the driver also had a suspended driver's licence and a prohibited weapon, though it was not specified what the weapon was.

The man has since been charged with obstructing an officer, resisting an officer, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of property obtained by crime, driving while suspended, and driving a vehicle with no plates.

He has been released from police custody with a future court date.
