As autumn sets in, Chatham-Kent's Pet and Wildlife Rescue (PAWR) has multiple events and fundraisers planned to keep local animals out of the cold.
On Friday, October 17 PAWR is partnering with Van Waes Family Farm for pumpkin picking and a bake sale. From 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., CK residents are invited to make their way to the shelter (405 Park St. E.) for the event.
Alongside the sweet treats, PAWR's popular Mystery Bags are on offer. The Cat Bags and Dog Bags vary in size, with prices ranging from $5 - $15.
On Friday, October 24, your pets have a chance to say cheese during a Halloween photoshoot at Glasshouse Nursery. PAWR is offering a chance for residents to get a professional shot of their furry friends, whether they're dressed up for the holiday or not. The cost is $20 per family. Tickets can be purchased online or in person at the shelter.
On Sunday, November 9, those who dine at Boston Pizza in Chatham will contribute to the shelter. A portion of the restaurant's proceeds that day will be donated to PAWR.
On Friday, November 21, amateur sleuths are invited to the Links of Kent in Chatham for a night of mystery, mayhem, and mutts.
A Woof-Dun-It murder mystery offers a good time for a great cause. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available online for $100 per person.
Finally, from November 1 to December 15, PAWR will run a 50/50 draw. Tickets will be available online. All proceeds will go to the shelter.
