Chatham man facing firearm charges

A 78-year-old man has been charged following an active police investigation just outside Chatham.

At around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, police were called to Queen's Line between Dillon Road and Bloomfield Line for a man with a firearm.

According to police, the man was inside a trailer.

After a couple of hours, officers entered the trailer and found the man unresponsive. He was taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) for medical help, but was later declared injury-free.

The man was charged with two counts of pointing a firearm and two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
