Officers were called Saturday morning after a verbal argument became physical.

Investigators say a 47-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman, both from Chatham, were seated in a car, where the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim.

The victim was transported to the hospital for medical attention, and a warrant was issued for the man after police found grounds to charge him with assault.

On Sunday, at roughly 1 p.m., officers found the accused near Junction Avenue in Chatham.

The man was arrested and has been released with conditions and a future court date.

Assault with a Weapon

A 9-1-1 hang-up call has resulted in the seizure of multiple knives.

Police allege that a verbal disagreement escalated at a Chatham business, and the suspect threatened people with a knife, following one person outside of the business.

At 5:05 p.m. on Sunday, CK police responded to the business on Park Avenue East and located the 62-year-old accused man outside.

After conducting a search, officers seized multiple knives and the man was arrested.

He has been charged with assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
