Wallaceburg to host spooky four-day fair

Spooky season is upon us, and to celebrate, Wallaceburg will be transforming into “Halloween Town.”

This is the second year the four-day fair is making its way into the area, and event organizer Chris Glassford excitedly announced it is even bigger this year.

"We've got the Business Improvement Area (BIA) and the Nightmare on Nelson all looking to come together to build a Halloween Town experience," said Glassford. "Things are getting a lot busier and bigger with some vendors and other activities that are going to happen."

He explained that they had a pretty good turnout last year for its first run, but he hopes to see a couple hundred people participating this year.

"We want to be something that has a draw, has a background of bringing people together in the community. There's nothing more fun than bringing your family out, getting some candy apples, getting on some rides, enjoying some of the activities we have going on," Glassford continued.

Events include a midway, vendors, Scare-oke (karaoke), a Monster Mash kids dance, a Halloween Town viewing, and a babies costume contest.

The Nightmare on Nelson, a haunted maze spanning several homes, will also be open.

The fair will be held at the Glen Mickle Park from October 29 to November 1.
