NHL Teams Showing Interest In Smith

Windsor-native and 2015 Memorial Cup Champion DJ Smith is talking with NHL teams. The Oshawa Generals head coach just can't say how many teams, or which ones have come calling.  "It's very flattering, and certainly when you win you get people that reach out to you.  But until you're working at that level, nothing is ever concrete."

Smith says he grew up a Detroit Red Wings fan, but has evolved into a Toronto Maple Leafs fan over the years, so to end up working in either of those organizations would be a dream come true.

In the meantime, he explains his focus is on the rebuilding of the Oshawa Generals, as many of its key players could move on to professional hockey next season.
