On Sunday, the 29-year-old lost with a stoppage coming at the 2:43 mark of the first round by TKO to fellow lightweight Francisco Trinaldo of Brazil.
Laprise is now 11-1, while Trinaldo ends the fight with a record of 18-4, riding a four fight win streak.
