The Windsor Spitfires continued a five-game losing skid with a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Thursday.
After no scoring in the first period, the Greyhounds took a 1-0 lead in the second. Windsor was able to tie things up with a goal early in the third, but it was short lived with Sault Ste. Marie scoring three in a row to top the Spits.
Spitfires Head Coach Rocky Thompson says he's positive his team will recover from the losing streak.
"That's the way we need to play games in order to win, and our guys did a great job, they maintained their discipline," he says. "If we play games like that down the stretch, we'll be fine. And over a seven-game series with any team, I like our odds no matter what."
The Spitfires will take on the Hamilton Bulldogs next on Saturday at 7pm.
