Maroons Look To Lock Up Third Place

The Chatham Maroons will close out the GOJHL season with back-to-back games this weekend, starting with a Saturday night tilt against Strathroy.

The final two games of the season have major playoff seeding implications, with the Maroons in a close race for third against the LaSalle Vipers. Chatham currently sits one point behind the Vipers in the standings.

Head Coach Tyler Roeszler says the Rockets will still be a tough opponent Saturday.

"I think they're in double digits in terms of overtime losses this year, they've been in OT upwards of 15 times this year," says Roeszler. "They always play teams tough, and we know we're going to get their best game."

If the Maroons finish third, they'll face the Sarnia Legionnaires in the first round of the playoffs. If they finish fourth, they'll take on the St. Thomas Stars.

Tonight's game can be heard live on AM630 CFCO. Puck drop is set for 7:30pm.
