Sting Defeat Spitfires 5-1

The Windsor Spitfires fell 5-1 to the Sarnia Sting in OHL action on Thursday.

The Sting took a 2-0 lead in the first and were able to extend it to 4-1 by the end of the second. A final goal in the third frame capped the win for Sarnia.

The win gives Sarnia a three point lead over Windsor in the West Division.

Spitfires right winger Christian Fischer says it's a frustraiting loss.

"It was obvioulsy big points to get tonight but costly mistakes and being on the penalty kill hurt us a lot," he says. "We just have to put it behind us and finish these [last] four games to get as many points as we can."

The Spitfires face off against the Owen Sound Attack next on Saturday at 7:30pm.
