The Blenheim Blades have their eye on the prize this season.
After losing in the second round of the playoffs last season, Blades new head coach Ken Shine says they want to win it all.
"We have an angel up above looking after us too as my boy passed away there in April," says Shine. "I said to the kids I have a mission, and it's to win a championship for the Blades cause they haven't won one for 50 years, but also for my kid."
Ken's son Jordan played in the OHL for the London Knights, but also for the Dresden Kings, and Wallaceburg Lakers. He was just 27.
The Blades take on the Petrolia Flyers tonight at Blenheim Memorial in their season opener.
"We're always slow at home, and then ho-hum for the first period, second period we get going, and then third period is out best period," says Shine. "So I don't want that this year, I want to come out flying right out of the gate and have a good start."
Puck drop is set for 7pm.
