The Lions home opener didn't go as planned, as Detroit lost 16-15 to Tennessee. Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford threw an interception with 18 seconds left, ending Detroit's late rally.

Elsewhere -- running back Adrian Peterson was hurt in the Minnesota Vikings 17-14 win over Green Bay.

The Toronto Blue Jays left seven on base in a 4-0 loss to the L-A Angels. The game was delayed 13 minutes after a swarm of bees took over the field.

Elsewhere -- Detroit is two games back of the Blue Jays for the second A-L wild card after the Tigers beat Cleveland 9-5. Justin Upton and J.D. Martinez both went deep for the Tigers.
