Montreal Sending Sergachev Back To Spits

The Windsor Spitfires are getting a big boost on defense, as Mikhail Sergachev is returning to the team.

The 18-year-old Russian played three games for the Montreal Canadiens this season, but had been sitting as a healthy scratch for the club's last five games.

He failed to register a point in any of those games, but was a plus-1.

Sergachev returns to the OHL, where he scored 17 goals and added 40 assists in 67 games as a rookie last season.

The Spitfires host Saginaw Thursday night at the WFCU Centre.
