Express Training Camp Opens

Training camps starts Monday for basketball players hoping to become a part of the 2017 Windsor Express.

Coach Bill Jones says there are currently 22 players vying for the 12 spots on the team.

"This is probably going to be one of our toughest training camps," says Jones. "We just look for them to come in and play hard and compete. To have that desire that the Windsor Express have been about in our existence, we go out there and compete, we play hard."

The team roster will be chosen after the two-week training camp. After losing in the conference semi-finals last year the team decided they needed to shake things up this year.

"Last year we ended up losing so we went ahead and made the decision in the summer to change the face of our organization and get rid of some of the players that played with us and bring some new players in," says Jones.

The first pre-season game in on December 29 against the Orangeville A's. The Express will take on the A's again for the season opener at the WFCU Centre on December 30.
