Junior Varsity Cougars Beat Up Oakville

The Chatham-Kent Cougars managed to come away with two wins and a loss over the weekend.

The Junior Varsity team took down the Titans 42-7 on Sunday.

Nakoma Scott and Johnathan Cartier led the way for the Cougars on the ground -- each of them had two rushing TDs. Patrick Wilcox stood out on special teams with a 42-yard punt return for a touchdown.

The Bantam Chatham-Kent Cougars also had a good day on the field. They edged out the Brantford Bisons by a score of 12-8.

Cougars running back Tyler Shumanski was a force to be reckoned with once he got the ball in his hands. He blew through the Bisons' defence, ripping them for 119 yards and two TDs. On the defensive side, Jude Pearson racked up nine tackles for the Cougars and assisted on five more.

The PeeWee Chatham-Kent Cougars had a pretty tough day by comparison. They were routed by the Brantford Bisons. The final score was 53-6.

Brennan Normandin-Kerr was one of the bright spots for the team, though. He had a 68-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
