Maroons Add Hometown Forward

Chatham's Austin Bentley has committed to the Maroons for the 2017-18 season.

He spent the last two seasons split between the Waterloo Siskins and the Sarnia Legionnaires at the Jr. B level before closing out the spring with Dresden and Blenheim in the local Jr. C loop.

Bentley is a product of both the Chatham-Kent Cyclones ‘AAA’ and Kent Cobras programs.

Bursaries Recognize Contributions To Athletics

The Chatham Sports Hall of Fame has chosen four local high school students to honour with its annual bursaries.

It's the fourteenth year in a row the hall of fame is recognizing students who have "contributed significantly to the betterment of athletics in his/her own school in a non-playing capacity."

The award is meant to recognize students who unselfishly perform one or more tasks including coaching, managing, fundraising, scoring, and timing.

The winners of the 2017 Chatham Sports Hall of Fame Bursaries are:

Victoria Koomans - Chatham Christian High School Emily Saunders - Chatham-Kent Secondary School Camryn Dudley - John McGregor Secondary School Grace Hiltz - Ursuline College Chatham

The awards include a certificate and a $200 bursary.
