The Lakeshore Canadiens have won the Schmalz Cup.
Friday night's final game was a back-and-forth affair between the Canadiens and the Clarington Eagles.
The Eagles opened the scoring, with two goals in less than two minutes at the end of the first period.
Lakeshore stormed back in the second. Forward Marco Sladoje scored his fourth goal of the playoffs just over a minute into the period. Zach Vaillancourt followed that up with a goal of his own 24 seconds later.
Sladoje's second goal of the night was the go-ahead goal for the Canadiens.
Clarington managed to tie things up at three goals apiece by the end of the second.
Trevor Larue, who had four points on the night with one goal and three assists, scored early in the third, allowing Lakeshore to pull ahead.
Forward Eric Bisson put away what would ultimately be the game-winning goal less than two minutes later.
Kyle Smith would get one more goal for Clarington, but it wasn't enough. The Canadiens won 5-4.
