Grand Theatre Making Money

London's Grand Theatre is reporting an operating surplus of over $17,000 for the 2013-2014 season.

This marks the 15th consecutive year the organization has had a surplus, bringing the accumulated cash total to $394,098.

During this season, The Grand employed 231 people, spent $1,319,526 on what is described as local goods and services, and hosted 213 performances, bringing over 100,000 people to the downtown core.

Earlier this year, the federal government announced the organization would be getting $100,000 to support the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 seasons. The theatre receives funding and grants from all levels of government.
