A convenience store clerk was stabbed during a robbery in St. Thomas on Wednesday night.
Investigators say a man with a knife demanded cash from the clerk at Moe's Variety Store, located at 808 Talbot St., at about 10pm. There was a struggle and the clerk was stabbed in the face and chest. He was taken to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital and then transported to London's Victoria Hospital. His injuries are non-life threatening.
St. Thomas police say the suspect got away. He's described as a white male with a slim build, 5'9" tall, wearing dark-coloured pants, a black hoodie and black shoes. He had a red bandanna across his face and was carrying a light-coloured pillow case.
Police also want to locate a potential witness who was in the store just prior to the incident. This person left in a white Ford Escape.
