London Man Charged In Pharmacy Break-ins

The OPP says officers have solved a crime spree that targeted area pharmacies over a four-month span in 2014.

The OPP Crime Unit was assisted by Waterloo Regional Police, London police, St. Thomas police and Sarnia police after a rash of break, enter and thefts. Between August and November of 2014, drugs were stolen from pharmacies in Grand Bend, Bayfield, North Perth Township, Ailsa Craig and Forest. Investigators say stolen medications were then trafficked.

William Christopher Kechego, 34, of London faces a long list of charges:

  • Two counts of possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule II Substance – cannabis marijuana Over 30 g.
  • Six counts of break, enter and theft
  • Four counts of wearing a disguise in the commission of an indictable offence
  • Three counts of trafficking in a Schedule I Substance
  • Three counts of trafficking in stolen goods over $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Kechego is in custody in Waterloo on other charges.

Also charged with three counts each of break, enter and theft, wearing a disguise and failing to stop for police is Robert Matthew Roth, 31 of Middlesex County.

Kateland Watson, 22, of no fixed address is charged with two counts of break and enter and wear disguise.
