With a midnight strike deadline looming, the union representing over 750 inside city workers says the "real decision makers" with the city have yet to show up to the bargaining table.
Meanwhile, a statement sent out by the city states "City of London and CUPE Local 101 negotiation teams continued their talks last night to reach a renewal collective agreement and will resume their discussions this morning."
Mediated talks were slated to take place yesterday and today, but the two sides have yet to reach a deal.
"The real decision makers of the city have not come to the bargaining table, wasting precious time and increasing the likelihood of a service shutdown that would negatively impact London's residents," the union writes in a news release.
The workers have been without a contract since December 31 of 2014.
Those represented by CUPE 101 provide water and waste water administration, financial administration, property standard inspections, bylaw enforcement, tourism, roads construction management social services and IT services.
