Body Pulled From Ottawa River, No London Link Confirmed

Police in Ottawa have found a body in the Rideau river but have not yet confirmed whether it is that of Muhab Sultanaly Sultan, the man wanted in connection to the June 14th murder of Jeremy Cook.

Ottawa Police confirm the body was discovered floating in the river Saturday morning, four days after a man was reported missing and presumed drowned in the Rideau River after running away from police. Ontario's Special Investigations Unit is in charge of the case.

Investigators say two men tried to run down a pair of officers travelling by bike in downtown Ottawa on Wednesday afternoon. A cruiser chased the suspects to a spot near the Rideau River. The passenger was arrested but the driver, believed to be Sultan, jumped into the river to evade officers. He had not been seen since.

Police in Ottawa and London believed the man is Muhab Sultan, who was wanted on a charge of second-degree murder in the killing of 18-year-old Jeremy Cook in London. Cook was attempting to retrieve his cellphone from three strangers in a car at Highbury Ave. and Huron St. on June 14 when he was shot and killed.
