Officials at the Western Fair District are calling the first concert at the new outdoor venue a learning experience.
Last night's Van Halen show was what the organization is calling "the first of many."
It drew a crowd of about 7,500.
"With the new set up and the venue it was a bit of learning experience. There was a lot of little things we will take and build upon and we'll be a little bit smarter and more efficient," Director of Business Development Kris Dinell tells BlackburnNews.com. "This year was just the beginning, call it the foundation. We started with one and it was a bit of a test for the consumer and the community, to see how they would respond."
Earlier in the year, the Western Fair District announced a partnership with Live Nation to bring a summer concert series to the city.
It is expected more large-scale shows scheduled for next summer will be announced in the coming months.
