Solid Voter Turnout In London Ridings

Only one of the four ridings that encompass London saw a smaller voter turnout percentage than the national figure.

According to Elections Canada, voter turnout across the country in Monday's election was 68.5%, the highest since the 1993 election that swept Jean Chretien's Liberals into power.

London-Fanshawe was the only riding in the city to not exceed that figure. In the election that saw New Democrat Irene Mathyssen keep her seat, 63.73% of eligible voters cast ballots.

In London West, 73.72% of eligible voters turned out. The figure was 72.34% in London North Centre.

Elgin Middlesex London saw 68.67% of its eligible voters make it to the polls.
