Knights Teddy Bear Toss Saturday

Sports fans heading to the London Knights home game Saturday are being asked to bring a new, unwrapped stuffed animal with them.

For the 15th year, the London Knights are holding their annual Teddy Bear Toss. When the Knights score their first goal against the Ottawa 67's, fans are encouraged to pitch their stuffies onto the ice.

All of those stuffed toys will then be collected and donated to the Salvation Army, which will distribute them to less fortunate children in the London area in time for Christmas.

Last year, 9,077 stuffed animals rained down after Christian Dvorak scored eight minutes and 15 seconds into the game. The most bears ever tossed was 10,671 in 2012 .

This year officials are hoping to collect even more.

Anyone who cannot make it to the game but still wants to donate can do so prior to the game at gate four at Budweiser Gardens.

The game starts are 7pm, with doors opening one hour before at 6pm. Tickets for the game are still available.
