OPP Identify Simcoe Collision Victim

The OPP has released the name of a woman killed after she was struck by a vehicle in Simcoe.

Jane Thomson, 68, of Norfolk County was walking on the side walk on South Dr. just after 2pm Thursday when she was hit by a pick-up truck that was backing out of a driveway.

Thomson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 83-year-old man driving the pick-up was not hurt.

Police closed South Dr. between John St. and Kent St. for roughly four hours following the collision.

At this point, no charges have been laid.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
