Lug Nuts Loosened On Vehicle In Simcoe

Provincial police are looking for the culprit or culprits behind an act of mischief that could have sent wheels flying off of a vehicle in Simcoe.

Norfolk OPP say between 12am Friday and 11am Saturday someone loosened the lug nuts on the driver's side front and rear wheels of a vehicle parked in a driveway on South Dr.

The loosened lug nuts were discovered after the owner took the vehicle in for service after noticing significant vibrations while driving.

Police say the intentionally loosened lug nuts could have had devastating effects for the driver of the vehicle and other innocent motorists and pedestrians travelling along the roadway.

This is the second time in recent month that lug nuts have been loosened on a vehicle in Norfolk.

The first incident happened in Port Dover in early November.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
