Wanted Man Arrested

A man who walked away from a halfway house in London is now back in police custody after almost nine months on the lam.

OPP say Damien Elijah was arrested Wednesday in the township of Brooke-Alvinston in Lambton County. Last February, he was released on parole after serving time for assault with a weapon, use of a firearm while committing an offence, assault causing bodily harm, assault, mischief, and failing to comply with probation order.

Police say he was living at a community residential facility in London, but left the home in April.

In the fall, OPP and Crime Stoppers put up wanted posters around London and Strathroy in hopes of getting tips about where Elijah was. A tip came in earlier this month, leading to Elijah's arrested on Wednesday.
