A jury has found Michael Schweitzer, the man charged in the December 4, 2012 shooting death of 17-year-old Nicole Wagler, guilty of second degree murder.
Schweitzer has also been found guilty of assault with a weapon in the shooting of Tyler Baker, who survived the night in question after being shot.
The 12 person jury ended deliberations at the Perth County Courthouse in Stratford on Saturday.
A second degree murder conviction carries a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment.
Superior Court Justice Thomas Heeney has asked for feedback from the jury as to where Schweitzer’s ineligibility for parole should lie, somewhere between ten and 25 years.
A total of 14 witnesses testified during the trial, which spanned just over two weeks.
