London firefighters were called just before 5:30am after a fire broke out in a main level unit of a walk-up in the Highland-area.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze quickly, though two people were taken to hospital for smoke inhalation and minor burns.
The man was charged in March with sexual assault offences.
