The Ontario Hockey League issued the suspension after reviewing a penalty for attempting to injure another player in the second period.
Yakimowicz will be be suspended for 12 games, dating from but not including the game on January 30 where the Spitfires beat the Knights 8-3.
The man was charged in March with sexual assault offences.
Both couples won in the April 11 draw.
