Arrests Made In Tweedsmuir School Arson

London police say they've made two arrests in connection with an intentionally set fire at an east end public school.

Around 5:50am on October 26, 2015, firefighters were called to Tweedsmuir Public School after reports of a fire. Investigators determined that someone broke into the school, poured gasoline on the floor, and ignited a fire. The school had to be closed for the day because of the damage and the lingering smell of gas.

Police also determined that, prior to the fire, there had been break-ins, thefts, arsons, and vandalism at a number of homes in the area of the school.

Two youths are now charged with theft under $5,000, four counts of arson damaging property, three counts of possession of incendiary material, as well as break, enter, and commit arson.

Their names cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
