Garage Fire Damages 1960s Chrysler

Fire officials are investigating after a garage fire broke out in at a south London home.

The London Fire Department says on Sunday around 4pm, firefighters attended the scene at Bostwick Rd. between Southdale Rd. W and Pack Rd., and were able to extinguish the blaze quickly. No one was injured.

Firefighters had to contend with high winds while they battled the blaze, and there were also propane tanks, car batteries and gasoline in the garage when the fire broke out.

An antique 1960s Chrysler Imperial parked the in the garage was damaged in the fire, and the home attached to the garage also sustained smoke damage.

Fire officials say the blaze caused around $150,000 to $200,000 in damages, however, the estimate may increase following their investigation.

An investigator has attended the scene to try to determine the cause of the fire, and Bostwick Rd. has been closed between Southdale Rd. W and Pack Rd.
