Provincial police are investigating after an abandoned school in Tillsonburg was broken into.
Oxford OPP and Tillsonburg firefighters were called to the former Maple Lane Public School on Maple Lane just before 6:30pm Monday after an alarm inside the building was tripped.
Police say they discovered someone has broken into the old school through a boarded up window and set off one of the building's fire extinguishers. They say there was no other damage and nothing was stolen.
Residents are reminded to be vigilant in recognizing suspicious people or vehicles in their neighbourhoods. Police say when in doubt, call and have police check it out.
