Worst Roads Campaign Underway

Once again, the CAA is asking Ontarians to report bad roads in their communities.

The Canada Automobile Association has launched its 2016 Worst Road Campaign and is asking for people to vote for the worst roads in the province.

"While winter in many parts of the province was not as harsh as other years, road and infrastructure maintenance continues to be an important issue for Ontarians," says Caroline Grech of CAA South Central Ontario. "We want to know the worst road you have driven on in Ontario.

London managed to avoid the Top 10 list in each of the past two years. However, Wharncliffe Rd. S was in the seventh spot on the 2013 list.

Ontarians can nominate as many streets as they like, but the CAA says people cannot vote for the same road, bridge or highway twice.

This year`s campaign comes as infrastructure funding from upper levels of government becomes more and more critical to municipalities. The CAA says that is why it continues to call on the provincial and federal governments to provide permanent, dedicated funding which will allow for road improvements.

Voting will continue until April 29. Votes can be cast at CAAWorstRoads.com.
