The Ontario Hockey League has announced the schedule for the 2016 OHL Western Conference Championship Series between the London Knights and the Erie Otters.
This third round series will mark the first time in OHL playoff history that the Otters and Knights have gone head-to-head for the Wayne Gretzky Trophy.
The Otters advanced to the championship series with a 4-1 series win over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, ending with a 5-2 victory Friday night. The Knights advanced with a 4-0 series sweep over the Kitchener Rangers, after a 6-4 victory Thursday night.
The Knights have the most Wayne Gretzky Trophy wins with five including 1999, 2005, 2006, 2012, and 2013.
The schedule for the championship series is as follows:
-Game 1, Wednesday, April 20 - London at Erie, 7pm
-Game 2, Sunday, April 24 - London at Erie, 7pm
-Game 3, Tuesday, April 26 - Erie at London, 7pm
-Game 4, Wednesday, April 27 - Erie at London, 7pm
-Game 5, Friday, April 29 - London at Erie, 7pm (if necessary)
-Game 6, Sunday, May 1 - Erie at London, 2pm (if necessary)
-Game 7, Monday, May 2 - London at Erie, 7pm (if necessary)
