Knights Poised For Sweep

What had been billed as one of the best matchups in the OHL playoffs is one London win away from ending in a sweep.

The London Knights beat the Erie Otters 5-1 at Budweiser Gardens on Tuesday night to take a three games to none lead in the Western Conference final. Mitch Marner led the Knights with two goals and two assists, and was named the game's first star.

Christian Dvorak opened the scoring at 4:42 of the first period with a goal assisted by Marner and Olli Juolevi. Knights goalie Tyler Parsons stopped all five shots he faced in the first period.

The second period was dominated by the Knights, as goals from Owen McDonald, Matthew Tkachuck, and Marner gave them a 4-0 going into the second intermission. Parson lost his shutout 22 seconds into the third period when Jake Marchment scored Erie's only goal.

Marner picked up his second goal of the night at 12:56 of the third to make it 5-1.

The Knights will try to finish off the Otters and advance to the OHL finals on Wednesday night at Budweiser Gardens. Game four gets underway at 7pm.
