The London Lightning scored a 115-105 win over the Halifax Hurricanes in Game 1 of the NBL of Canada Finals on Thursday.
The two teams ended the first quarter tied 23-23, but London took a 48-44 lead going into halftime. The Lightning extended their lead to 80-73 in the third, and then gained a final burst of momentum in the final frame to hand the Hurricanes their first loss of the post season.
Akeem Wright led led all scorers with 25 points and four rebounds for London. Stephen Maxwell put up 16 points and nine rebounds.
The Lightning return to the court at the Scotiabank Centre on Friday for Game 2 at 6pm.
