Kids in London will have plenty of things to do to keep busy on their PA day.
The 12th annual ‘Kids First day’ will be held on Friday, giving families the chance to take part in fun events.
The event, hosted by ‘Investing In Children’ and sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of London, will offer children a variety of activities supplied by over 50 businesses in London, including Mastermind Toys, YMCA, and East Park.
"Businesses, organizations, and groups that have just generously signed on and agreed to do this,” says Sarah Finch, communications manager Investing In Children. “So they’ll decide what time the activity is, how long it goes for and what the activity is, and they do the supplies. Or they open up their venue either for free or at a minimal cost.”
There are lots of different things to try, ranging from physical activities to art projects. Such events include swimming, bowling, crafts, and science experiments.
“They’re all different. It’s a whole myriad of different experiences kids can try. A lot of different interests.” Finch says.
There will also be a prize draw that kids will be eligible for after filling out three slots on their ‘Kids First Day Passport’, which will be supplied at any location. Each organization taking part in the event has shown a real interest in investing in the kids of London, according to Finch.
“It’s very impressive how generous the groups, organizations and businesses around London are, and how they believe too that investing in children is a great thing for our community,” says Finch.
All are welcome to attend, as the goal is to show how London is truly a fun place for families.
“It’s a great day to really showcase all the amazing things that are available to families and children in London. And it’s a great way to spend a PA day for sure,” Finch says.
