School Bus Crashes Into Hydro Pole

A 13-year-old girl was among two people hurt when a school bus crashed into a hydro pole near Tavistock.

Oxford OPP say the school bus was heading south on 43rd Line between Perth Oxford Rd. and Road 96 when it veered off the roadway and hit a hydro pole around 8:30am Monday.

The bus driver and a 13-year-old girl were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Constable Stacey Culbert says a few other students on the bus were treated at the scene.

"We had about 17 students on the bus at the time," says Constable Culbert. "Just a few were treated at the scene for bumps and bruises. They were either taken home by their parents or taken to school by another bus."

The bus was en route to Zorra Highland School at the time of the collision.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash. At this point no charges have been laid.
