Arson is suspected in a Tuesday morning blaze at a northwest London elementary school.
London firefighters were called to Wilfrid Jury Public School on Lawson Rd. just after 5am after the school's fire alarm system was triggered.
District Fire Chief Kirk Loveland says the fire was inside one of the classrooms and was doused by the school's sprinkler system.
"When we arrived the sprinkler system had done its job, extinguished the fire, and then we were able to mop up after that," says Loveland.
Damage is estimated at $20,000.
Loveland says they found a broken window at the back of the building and there were signs of forced entry.
London police are investigating the incident.
Summer programs being offered at the school are going ahead as scheduled.
