The Ontario Provincial Police say on Sunday around 3:15pm, the man was struck by lightning while cutting the lawn at his home on Glendale Dr.
Police, fire crews and EMS responded to the home around 3:44pm, and the man was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The man has been identified as 52-year-old David Johnson of Tillsonburg.
Police say they are no longer investigating the incident.

Fortunately, no children were on board the bus, but the drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The man was charged in March with sexual assault offences.
