The London Majors struck first in their Intercounty Baseball League semi-final series with Toronto.
Pitching for the first time in two weeks, Elis Jimenez held the Toronto Maple Leafs to three hits as he pitched a complete game to help the Majors win 5-0 in the series opener at Labatt Park. He struck out nine while allowing one walk.
Byron Reichstein led the Majors' offence with three hits and two Runs Batted In. Michael Ambrose and Chris McQueen each had a hit and an RBI, while Brett Sabourin drove in the other run.
Brett van Pelt took the loss for Toronto, allowing three runs on nine hits in 6.2 innings. He walked two and struck out two.
Game two of the series is scheduled for Sunday in Toronto.
