Two Killed In Dundas/Highbury Crash

Two people are dead and three others injured after a serious crash in east London.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Highbury Ave. and Dundas St. around 1:55am Thursday after two vehicles collided.

Police say the investigation has so far determined that a southbound car on Highbury Ave. was travelling at a high rate of speed when it hit the driver's side of a car that was heading east on Dundas St.

Two of the four people in the eastbound car were pronounced dead at hospital. The driver and a third passenger are still in hospital.

The driver of the southbound car, who was alone in his vehicle, is also still in hospital.

Police say, after the collision, one vehicle hit a pole and the other hit a house.

Highbury Ave. from Oxford St. to Florence St., and Dundas St. from Oakland Ave. to Florence St. were closed for several hours while police conducted an investigation. The roadways were reported open around 8:40pm.
