UPDATE: Hwy. 402 Reopens Following Fatal Crash

The east and westbound lanes of Hwy. 402 have been reopened between Colonel Talbot Rd. and Hwy. 401, following a crash that claimed the life of a 28-year-old Brampton man.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Monday 7:30am, a fuel truck travelling east on Hwy. 402 lost control just east of Wonderland Rd. The truck collided with a median in the centre lane and flipped upon impact.

The driver, Jagjit Singh Deol of Brampton, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the truck had been carrying ethanol and diesel fuel. Both fuel tanks on the transport were ruptured, requiring a response from the London Fire Department hazardous goods team.

Police reopened one westbound lane just before 10am Tuesday and then fully reopened the highway in both directions at around 7:40pm.
