Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

The annual London Santa Claus Parade will be held on Saturday evening.

The 60th anniversary parade has adopted the theme, "a Diamond Christmas." It begins at 6pm and runs along Dundas St. from Egerton St. to Ridout St.

It's estimated the parade will last about 90 minutes. Parade-goers are being told not to try to view the parade from east of Egerton St., since the area on Dundas St. between Egerton St. and Highbury Ave. will be the staging area.

"You may not see Santa if you are in the form up area as Kellogg's Lane has been torn up all summer and Santa may have to enter the parade at the North East corner of the Western Fair District at Egerton and Dundas!" a statement on the parade website says.

Organizers are asking people coming to the parade to consider making financial donations to help offset the parade costs. They're also asking people to bring non-perishable food items for the London Food Bank and new teddy bears for the Salvation Army toy drive.

This will be the first of three Santa Claus parades in London. The Hyde Park parade will be held at 10am on November 26, while the Argyle parade is scheduled for 2pm on December 10.
