Charges Laid In Pharmacy Robbery

London police say two people are charged after a robbery at an east-end pharmacy.

Around 7:30pm Saturday, police say a man armed with what was thought to be a handgun walked into the Shoppers Drug Mart at 1657 Dundas St. and demanded narcotics. The weapon turned out to be an imitation. The man was given an undisclosed amount of narcotics before he took off.

Not long after, officers arrested a man and a woman in a nearby vehicle.

A 50-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman are charged with armed robbery and possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking. The man is also charged with wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence and using an imitation firearm during the commission of an indictable offence.

Police say the man is also accused of robbing a pharmacy on November 26.
