Cold temperatures and recent snowfall have been welcome arrivals for skiers and snowboarders in London.
The return of winter weather has led to an early opening at Boler Mountain. Seven ski runs opened at 4pm Friday.
"We've had some excellent snow making temperatures. The snow making team has been hard at work and Mother Nature has also chipped in with some natural snow," said Greg Strauss of the Boler Mountain management team.
This year's early opening stands in stark contrast to last year's conditions in mid-December.
"Last year was a little disappointing. It was a green Christmas, so there was definitely no snow making and no skiing last Christmas," said Strauss. "We're excited that we'll be off to a great start this season and hopefully we can carry that momentum through the end of March."
Boler Mountain will be open to skiers and snowboarders Friday from 4pm to 9pm, Saturday from 10am to 9pm, and Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
Strauss expects it's going to be a busy weekend.
"There's some pent up demand out there and the phone has been ringing non-stop since it started snowing late last week," he said.
